Privacy Policy
Last updated: 25 October 2026.
This policy explains what personal data GlassDrive collects and why. The short version: your files never leave your Mac, the app doesn't track you, and we never sell your data.
Who is responsible
The GlassDrive founders, based in the United Kingdom, are the data controller. Contact: henrysarosi9@gmail.com. We will publish our ICO registration number here once registered.
What we collect
- Account: your email address, when your account and trial started, your referral code, who referred you (if anyone) and how many free months you've earned.
- How you found us: your answer to “How did you find out about us?” (for example TikTok or a friend), plus anything you type in “Other”. We use the totals to see which adverts work.
- Feedback: anything you write to us in the app, including the optional survey after a trial (with your star rating, if you give one).
- Subscription: your plan (Pro, Ultimate or Business, and for Business the number of people), price, renewal and end dates, and payment records (amount, tax, date) sent to us by Lemon Squeezy. We never see your card details.
- Crash reports: if GlassDrive crashes, a short anonymous technical report (app and macOS version, and where in our code it failed, with your Mac user name removed). It isn't linked to your account. Turn it off in Settings › General.
- Sign-in: one-time codes and session tokens, stored only in scrambled (hashed) form.
- Messages to you: the alerts shown in your app (e.g. renewal reminders) and whether you've opted in to product news.
- Security: your IP address and email are used for up to 2 days to stop repeated sign-in attempts. Our host keeps short-lived server logs.
- Download counts: we count downloads per day and, if you arrived from one of our adverts, which advert. The count holds no personal data.
What we never collect
Your files, file names, folders, searches, custom background photos, Confidential folder passwords or contents, or any analytics about how you use the app. This website sets no cookies.
Website visit counts
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits to this website: which pages are viewed, which site sent the visitor (for example reddit.com), and the visitor's rough country, browser and device type. It uses no cookies and doesn't identify you or follow you across other websites, and we only ever see totals. We do this to know whether our posts and adverts work (legitimate interests).
Why we use it (lawful bases)
- To provide your account and subscription (contract): sign-in, trial and its extension, pricing, renewal reminders, referral rewards, free months.
- To keep GlassDrive secure, working and improving (legitimate interests): rate limiting, fraud prevention, crash reports, reading feedback, overall numbers such as how many people found us through each advert.
- Product news and patch notes by email (consent): only if you opt in. You can opt out any time in Settings › Account or via the link in each email.
- Tax and accounting records (legal obligation).
Who we share it with
- GitHub (GitHub Pages) hosts this website and the GlassDrive download (processor).
- Cloudflare hosts our server and database, and counts anonymous website visits (processor).
- Google (Gmail) receives help and feedback emails you send to henrysarosi9@gmail.com (processor).
- Resend sends our emails (processor).
- Lemon Squeezy sells and bills subscriptions as merchant of record. It is responsible for your payment data under its own privacy policy.
- Anthropic (Claude) helps us summarise feedback and daily totals for our own morning report (processor). It receives feedback text and totals, never your email address.
These providers may process data in the United States. Transfers are protected by the UK–US data bridge or the UK's approved contract terms. We never sell or rent your data to anyone.
How long we keep it
Account data: while your account exists, then deleted within 30 days of you asking. Feedback: up to 2 years. Crash reports: 90 days. Payment records: 6 years (required for tax). Sign-in codes: 10 minutes. Sessions: up to 180 days. Security data: 2 days.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, delete or export your data, object to or restrict how we use it, and withdraw consent. Email us and we'll respond within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
