Terms of Service
Last updated: 25 October 2026.
1. Who we are
GlassDrive is made by its two founders, based in the United Kingdom (“we”, “us”). Contact: henrysarosi9@gmail.com. GlassDrive is independent and not affiliated with Apple Inc.
2. Your account
You need a free account to use GlassDrive. You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email. Keep access to your email secure; anyone who can read it can sign in to your account. You must be 18 or over to buy a subscription (or have a parent or guardian's permission). One account is for one person.
Beta
GlassDrive is currently a free public beta. During the beta: every feature is free and no payment details are taken; the app is provided “as is” and may contain bugs, so please keep your own backups (for example with Time Machine); features may change or be removed; and we may end the beta with at least 30 days' notice by email. Sections 3 to 8 (trial, prices and billing) only apply once paid plans start, and we'll email you before that happens.
Beta tester reward
If you send us useful feedback during the beta, you get 12 months of GlassDrive Ultimate free, starting on the day paid plans begin. Useful feedback is a bug report with the steps to make it happen, or a specific, constructive idea to improve GlassDrive; we decide whether feedback qualifies, and we'll tell you in the app when your reward is confirmed. Send it from inside the app (“Send feedback”) while signed in, or by email to henrysarosi9@gmail.com from the email address of your GlassDrive account. One reward per person and per account; it can't be exchanged for money or transferred. After the 12 months, you can choose any plan or stop; nothing is charged automatically unless you subscribe. Feedback must be sent before the beta ends. We may use your feedback to improve GlassDrive without paying you anything further.
3. Free trial
New accounts get a 7-day free trial of every Pro feature. If you answer the in-app question “How did you find out about us?” (any answer, or naming a friend's referral code), the trial is extended by 7 days, to 14 days in total. No payment details are needed for the trial and nothing is charged when it ends. Each person may have one free trial. Ultimate features are not included in the trial.
4. Plans and loyalty pricing
Pro monthly: £3.99 for your first month, £3.00 for your second, then 10p less every two paid months, down to a minimum of £1.99. Ultimate monthly: £4.99, then £4.00, then 10p less every two paid months, down to £1.99. Yearly: 20% less than the same 12 months on the monthly plan (Pro: £27.59, £21.19, then £19.10 a year; Ultimate: £37.19, £30.72, £24.96, £19.88, then £19.10 a year). Business: £4.99 per person a month, or £47.90 per person a year, for 3 or more people, billed together to one business account; the price per person never increases while the subscription continues. Early commitment: if you start a monthly plan during your free trial, your first month is 20p cheaper and the first payment is taken when your trial ends. Prices include VAT. Payments are taken by our reseller and merchant of record, Lemon Squeezy, whose terms also apply to your purchase.
5. Lifetime plan policy (price guarantee)
From the day your subscription starts, the price table that applies to you will never increase while your subscription continues without lapsing. We may change prices for new customers; that won't affect you. [CONFIRM: if the government changes the VAT rate, we will / will not absorb it.] The guarantee ends if your subscription lapses (see section 6). Switching between Pro and Ultimate moves you to that plan's price table at your current loyalty step.
6. Auto-renewal, reminders and lapsing
Subscriptions renew automatically until you turn auto-renew off, which you can do at any time from the link in your receipt email or in GlassDrive › Settings › Account. If auto-renew is off, your loyalty price and guarantee continue until your billing date, and we'll remind you by email and in the app 7 days before. If your billing date passes without a renewal, your subscription ends, your loyalty price and guarantee end, and if you subscribe again you'll pay the prices that apply to new customers at that time. We'll tell you by email and in the app when this happens. We'll also remind you before renewals as the law requires: before each yearly renewal, every 6 months on monthly plans, and before the first payment if you committed early.
7. Cancelling and refunds
You have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of buying. Because GlassDrive starts working immediately, when you subscribe you'll be asked to agree that it can start straight away, and that you lose the legal right to cancel once it does. Even so, we'll refund any payment if you email us within 14 days of it. This doesn't affect your other legal rights.
8. Referrals and free months
The referral programme is covered by our Referral Terms. If your trial ends without a subscription, we may offer you a one-time free month in exchange for written feedback; it can be used once per person.
9. Your licence to use GlassDrive
While your trial or subscription is active, you may use GlassDrive on Macs you own or control, for your own use. You may not resell, share licences, or try to get around the account or payment system.
10. Your files
GlassDrive works directly on the files on your Mac and never uploads them. Deleted items go to the Trash and most changes can be undone, but please keep your own backups (for example with Time Machine). Confidential folders can't be opened without their password, and we can't recover forgotten passwords.
11. Downloads and updates
GlassDrive is distributed from our website and is not notarised by Apple, so macOS will warn you the first time you open it. Only download GlassDrive from our official website. We publish a checksum so you can check the file is genuine. We may update GlassDrive to fix problems or add features.
12. Our responsibility to you
We're responsible for losses you suffer that are a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. If GlassDrive damages your device or other digital content because we didn't use reasonable care and skill, we'll either repair the damage or compensate you. We don't exclude liability where it would be unlawful to, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. We're not responsible for losses that weren't foreseeable, or for business losses.
13. Ending your account
You can ask us to delete your account at any time by emailing us. We may suspend accounts used for fraud or abuse (for example fake referral accounts or repeated trials), and will tell you why.
14. Changes to these terms
We'll tell you by email at least 30 days before any important change. Changes never override your price guarantee.
15. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings there.
16. Trademarks
Mac, macOS, Finder and iCloud are trademarks of Apple Inc., used only to describe compatibility.
